HOFNIL- Red Phosphorus Master Batch

HOFNIL- Red Phosphorous concentrate is a halogen free flame retardant additive based on red-phosphorus particularly suitable for polyamide articles. It is a free-flowing and dust-free masterbatch in pellets physical form which makes it very easy to handle, accurately to dose and safely to process allowing high consistency in the quality of the final article.

HOFNIL- ZB (Zinc Borate)

(Melamine coated Ammonium Polyphosphate II)

HOFNIL-ZB (Zinc Borate) is a boron-based versatile flame retardant widely used in polymers, plastics and rubber compounds due to its ability to release water at high temperatures, aiding in fire suppression. It is effective in enhancing the fire resistance of materials such as PVC, polyolefins, elastomers, polyamides and epoxy resins.

HOFNIL-FR 255

(Melamine Cyanurate)

HOFNIL-FR 255 is a halogen-free flame retardant that is highly effective for use in polyamides. It is widely
employed to help materials achieve the stringent UL 94 V-0 flame retardancy rating. This compound is
particularly suitable for enhancing the flame resistance of polyamides, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU), and
polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). The combination of melamine and cyanuric acid in this compound provides a
synergistic effect that significantly enhances the Flame retardant properties, making it an essential additive for
various high-performance applications where safety and compliance are critical.

Key Advantages

  • Polyamides (Nylons):
  1. Electrical and Electronic Components: Used in connectors, switches, and housings due to its ability to meet stringent flame retardancy standards without adversely affecting mechanical properties.
  2. Automotive Parts: Applied in components like under-the-hood parts, which require both high thermal stability and flame retardancy
  3. Consumer Goods: Utilized in household items and appliances where flame resistance enhances safety.
  • Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU):
  1. Cable Sheathing: Provides enhanced flame resistance while maintaining the flexibility and durability required for electrical cables and wires.
  2. Footwear: Used in the production of shoe soles and other components to improve safety by reducing flammability.
  3. Medical Devices: Applied in medical equipment and devices where both biocompatibility and flame resistance are essential.
  • Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT):
  1. Automotive Applications: Used in high-performance automotive components that require superior flame retardancy, such as connectors and sensor housings.
  2. Electrical and Electronics: Essential for parts like switchgear, relays, and insulators that must meet strict fire safety standards.
  3. Industrial Machinery: Used in components that require both durability and flame resistance, ensuring safety in industrial environments.
  • Textiles:
  1. Protective Clothing: Incorporated into fabrics for protective clothing, providing flame resistance for firefighters, military personnel, and industrial workers.
  2. Upholstery and Carpets: Used in home and office furnishings to improve fire safety without compromising the material’s appearance or texture.
  • Adhesives and Sealants:
  1. Construction Materials: Added to adhesives and sealants used in construction to enhance fire
resistance in buildings, improving overall safety.
  • It is easier to handle, blend able with other FR synergist, inert for other polymer additives like thermal &
    UV stabilizers, plasticizers etc.

HOFNIL- FR 264

HOFNIL-FR 264 is a blend of halogen-free intumescent flame retardant specifically designed for use in polyolefins, particularly polypropylene (PP) and its copolymers. This white, odorless, and tasteless powder is known for its high efficiency and environmental safety. It is often utilized in conjunction with other flame retardants such as Melamine Cyanurate (MCA) or Melamine Polyphosphate (MPP) to enhance its flame-retardant properties. The intumescent mechanism of HOFNIL-FR 264 allows it to form a protective char layer when exposed to heat, thereby preventing the spread of flames and reducing the release of toxic gases. Its nitrogen and phosphorus composition contributes significantly to its effectiveness, making it a preferred choice for applications requiring stringent fire safety standards.

HOFNIL- FR A2

(Ammonium Polyphosphate II)

HOFNIL-FR A2(Ammonium polyphosphate II) is a widely used flame retardant known for its effectiveness and versatility across a range of applications. It is particularly valued in industries such as paints, coatings, textile and polymer manufacturing due to its ability to enhance fire resistance in materials. FR A2 is a polymeric compound composed of ammonia and polyphosphoric acid.

HOFNIL- FR A2M

(Melamine coated Ammonium Polyphosphate II)

HOFNIL-FR A2M is a widely used flame retardant known for its effectiveness and versatility across a range of applications. Melamine Coated Ammonium Polyphosphate combines ammonium polyphosphate with a melamine coating. This coating enhances the thermal stability, water resistance and overall performance of the flame retardant in various applications. It features extremely low water solubility, is completely insoluble in organic solvents, non-hygroscopic, non-flammable and has improved powder flowability.
